Review Summary
Summarized from 92 verified reviews · Updated September 2026
Moz Pro is praised for its intuitive interface, comprehensive keyword and link analysis tools, and strong rank tracking capabilities, making it accessible to beginners while offering useful features for experienced SEO professionals. Users consistently highlight the Keyword Explorer and Link Explorer as standout tools, though some note that backlink discovery lags behind competitors and keyword data varies by region. Common criticisms include high pricing, slow navigation, outdated metrics (Domain and Page Authority), and concerns that the platform hasn't kept pace with rapid industry changes. The browser extension is popular for its free functionality, though some report it slows browser performance.

“Less comprehensive than other tools”

Overall rating3.0

As a Digital Marketing Assistant at PullRankMedia, Inc., I use a combination of multiple SEO Tools and I find Moz to be less comprehensive than other tools. I also have found Moz to be a bit more "salesey" and didn't get that feeling as much from the other ones.

“Geared more towards small businesses”

Overall rating3.0

After using Moz for the SEO purpose at ThoughtLab, I found that the tool is having fewer features and geared more towards small businesses and location-based campaigns. They also after an array of price points that can reach up to $599 for the Premium option.

“Build better content and drive more traffic”

Overall rating5.0

There are countless tools on the market to help with SEO. For SEO purpose at StrategyBeam, we use Moz as it is a great tool for keyword research and offer one of the largest databases to help with link research. Moz is a 5/5 for all things keyword research, topic research, and evaluating links. It help marketers in their own right and can help build better content and drive more qualified traffic when used properly.

“Moz Pro is built more or agencies and or large SEO teams”

Overall rating4.0

My name is William Chin and I am an SEO consultant for Pickfu.com. I have been doing SEO for roughly 6 years and I have worked on a varying sized campaign, from optimizing corner stores and Google my businesses, to enterprise campaigns spanning multiple countries. During those campaigns, I have worked with at least a dozen different mainstream SEO software. I have used Moz at my previous agency. Here's how I would break them down on different factors:

  1. Scalability(5/5): Moz is great if you're in an agency and need one master account to do keyword tracking, content discovery and technical audits. Despite being able to track only 10 - 25 campaigns across the first three pricing tiers, you can have a ton of users log on at the same time. This makes it ideal for large agencies who will have multiple analysts logging on to the same account.
  2. Pricing(4/5): The tiers for Moz are monthly: $99 / $179 / $249 / $599 / Custom and it allows for an annual 20% discount.
  3. Technical Stack(3/5): Moz has all the accouterments and tracking capabilities for local campaigns and enterprise campaigns, plus the general technical audits and crawling capabilities of any out of the box SEO tool. It also has an API, but you need to pay a minimum of $250 extra a month.

“There aren’t as many features as there are in other competitive tools in the market”

Overall rating4.0

I'm Adam, founder, and CEO at Better Proposals. I would like to share my thoughts regarding Moz Pro. Sometimes it seems to behind the times with some of its features (domain authority as a metric, for example) and it can be difficult to navigate for beginner users. It also offers less for the money (only 2 websites and 300 keywords).

“Amazing results”

Overall rating4.0

At Summit Digital Marketing, we use MOZ every day in our management workflows for clients. Besides using MOZ for the basic features such as Keyword Research and Link Research, we create campaigns in MOZ Pro for our clients to monitor Technical SEO opportunities and problems. We use the Site Crawl and Keyword Ranking Tool religiously to track our Organic Keyword progress and monitor any site issues, however, we prefer other resources to the Keyword Research tool. Regardless, MOZ has been an integral resource to our clients' amazing results and we will continue to use MOZ in our everyday management.

“Great tool”

Overall rating4.0

As a Digital Marketing Specialist at Prospected. I think Moz is a great tool and it could be useful for someone who runs on a tighter budget, hence, wants to use a tool for free. Upgrading it to PRO doesn’t make much sense to me since we are getting pretty much the same features in the PRO version as we do in the free version.

“Better for someone beginning to utilize SEO”

Overall rating3.0

Moz is better for someone beginning to utilize SEO. At LetMeBank, we use Moz as it offers a lot of decent features for free, which is why it's a good jumping-off point. But once you get familiar with SEO, it won't be enough in the long run.
