Our company Trivia Bliss uses Moz Pro for all of our SEO needs. We operate two websites on a tight budget, but we do as much social media advertising as we can. The software's main benefits are its thorough keyword research tool and in-depth analysis of the competition. The software also provides access to a plethora of information that can be utilized to monitor the effectiveness of a website and enhance its keyword ranks. Aside from having competent and helpful support staff, the software is also rather easy to use. Price-wise, it's not too bad, and you get everything you need for SEO with it.

The Link Explorer tool allows Moz users to analyze which websites their competitors' backlinks are coming from, and the quality of the backlinks based on two Moz ranking scores; Domain Authority (DA) and Page Authority (PA). If Moz shows a website that has a high DA/PA and ranks for many keywords, then the website can be categorized as authoritative.

This information is important when picking and choosing which website you'd like to reach out to for backlink opportunities. The Keyword Explorer tool is a powerful tool for on-page SEO. This tool allows Moz users to enter a keyword in the search bar, and analyze the monthly search volume for that particular keyword. Moz will also show a list of suggestions and statistics of other keywords similar to the keyword that was searched for. This information can help businesses establish a keyword strategy for the content they plan on publishing on their website. For these reasons, I suggest businesses new to SEO use Moz.

In addition, Moz offers a free 30 day trial to new users. One disadvantage is Moz doesn't always display all the backlinks a website has received. If a business heavily depends on competitor backlink research, Moz can become a frustrating SEO software to use. Moz provides businesses with all the tools and data needed to have SEO success. The free 30-day trial is a huge plus since many of the other SEO software don't offer a free trial this long.

For my SEO consultancy - Matt Tutt Digital Marketing, I used Moz and realized it is a great tool for tracking local search rankings and has a variety of other nice features, making it a very creditable alternative to SEMrush. It's a pretty comprehensive piece of software that allows you to cover all areas of SEO - keyword research, rank tracking, reporting, site audits, etc.

Downsides of Moz - personally I'm not so convinced about some of the keyword search volume estimates it gives (often these seem to be quite understated) so I'd normally use another tool when it comes to keyword research.

I also find some of the reports quite tricky to setup. I also feel that their link analysis is pretty poor when compared to other software. There seems to be a lot of link data missing here.
