But the simplification of its management features also means that it is not compatible with big, complex projects. The free version is limited to one board. Its more advanced and personalized features are locked behind paid add-ons.

Since we work in the creative SaaS industry sector, the best project planning software for our company is Trello. It has a simple drag and drop interface that even our most tech-challenged members got the hang of updating the board daily. It’s easy to attach any kind of file on the cards, and the ability to track changes makes quick work of the changelog. Kanban boards are visually very helpful, and since we encourage free communication with our clients, we show our work is updated in real-time on the platform. They can even comment on any of the work in progress, and step in before any more unnecessary work is done.

Trello has been the most trusted project management and planning tool in my company - Inboard Skate because aside from its ease of use, I can efficiently track the progress of each task assigned through the movable and customizable cards. It's user-friendly surface makes it very uncomplicated to familiarize and utilize as well.

My company is using Trello for a year now and what makes it an ideal tool is that it's very intuitive and requires minimal training because it works just like a pinboard, where everyone assigned to different projects can comment on progress or new developments. Because of the pandemic, part of our staff works remotely and the other on-site. It's important to have tools like this that allow us to collaborate seamlessly and stay on top of different projects.

At WikiLawn Los Angeles Lawn Care, we actually use Trello for project tracking. While it's billed as a task tracking app, with a bit of organization it serves very well as a project tracking resource, too.

I'd say the best pros are the price (the pro/business version doesn't cost much), ease of use, the ability to use it on many different platforms and have it sync, and how interactive it is. Cons would be a lack of overall project view (though the calendar helps), no real project tracking metrics, and a more hands-on approach necessary than other apps.

Trello is a visual collaboration tool for planning your project on a task board. You can create boards, cards, and assign them to team members. I highly recommend it because it is fast and real-time. You can see the progress of critical tasks at a glance. It is also very intuitive and easy to navigate. The tasks can be quickly checked when they are completed. This is absolutely useful to remote managers like me to get a grasp of progress without having to do too many follow ups.

One of the project management tracking software our company uses is TRELLO. 

At Printex, we use Trello because it helps us to track our projects and also organize our teamwork. Trello basically utilizes boards, lists, and cards that can be used to manage projects in a flexible way. 

We usually assign cards to project team members and add due dates to track work by the contributor. What I like about is that it helps to keep our tasks organized by status to track progress eg Trello sends a mail to the user near the deadline to remind them about a task and when it is due, also when the task is not completed and the due date is not met, it displays “overdue” label on the card. 

Also, you can make different lists, like a list for upcoming tasks, current tasks, and done tasks, and move the cards around under them to stay more organized and up to date.

At Stockarea, we use the tool Trello to assign and keep track of every project that we take up.

Trello has made it possible to maintain the workflow in the company through a virtual office in this pandemic situation.

Pros

In Trello, we are provided with utilities like boards, lists and cards that can be manipulated to assign and track projects making the team's work more comfortable.

With Trello, managers can oversee a project and individually assign tasks to specific members of the department by creating cards with task descriptions and timeframes.

Trello can also be used to set budgets and manage the expenses of a company. Cards can be used to enter the costs incurred, and limits can be fixed to maintain company budgets. Trello has helped us to have better control over our finances.

Cons

Trello has a disadvantage of relying on the internet for its functioning. Users without the internet cannot benefit from Trello as no offline facilities are available.

When the team grows and projects become more complex, managing all of the tasks over Trello becomes difficult.

At Viva Flavor, we run an online food and drink business. I'm supported by a small remote team, and I'd like to share my experience from the perspective of a small enterprise. As a small team with relatively simple projects to manage we track our progress using Trello.

Pros

Very easy to use. New / temporary remote team members are up and running rapidly.

Low upload file sizes outside of the most expensive plan.

Since the pandemic we've had to change a few things. We used to rely on email and face to face chats, which is ineffective anyways.

At Core Mountaineering, for a few months we switched all projects to Trello. It's an easy intuitive system to learn and it's web-based so everyone has access.

Project goals are put on "cards" with instructions on how to complete that objective.

Once completed, the card is moved in the next section, for the next person.

So far, we have no plans on changing tools. Trello has been fantastic
