As a technology, media and telecom consultant, I've had ongoing requirements to deliver detailed market development analysis for my clients. Evernote is the app that I prefer to use, and I've tried numerous other applications over the last decade.
“Started strong...I used to be their biggest fan”
As an early adopter, I was such a fan of Evernote. I recommended it to everyone, clients and friends alike, and I paid for premium services up until my renewal earlier this year. Not only because it made sense for my business but I also wanted to support the great things they could do. I don't know if the experience is especially bad for Mac users or if it has gone downhill for everyone, but the app became unusable a few years ago. The web experience is way too slow and clunky to use only via browser (I tried for a year), so I have finally given up.

I have used evernote for 4 years now and I used to take notes, of course. But I use this to write out processes and keep track of special tools, tips and tricks that I have access to. When someone asks "hey do you have a tool for this..", instead of writing the whole process out I simply share the link to my evernote doc. My whole team uses this and we can easly share things back and fourth with out looking for that "one" email with the details.

This is the library and memory file you've been waiting for. A place to store everything you need to remember, to save for later - and to be able to search easily. The search function is my favourite part and works better than any other solution out there. The app syncs across any device you can think of and has super powerful reminders, tagging, sorting and categorizing functions. Notes can even be turned into templates. The only downside is that it is so powerful and flexible, it can be hard to know which means of organization will work best for you.
