Wix

Wix is relatively easy for the novice to use with its structured drag and drop format. Priced at a reasonably cost-effective rate, it allows entry-level businesses to develop an internet presence with a limited budget.

Cons: Its simple structure is also limiting. Where the majority of plugins and features developed for online are within the Wordpress platform, you can only use Wix resources for your website. As an SEO Expert at ClickBurst, I experienced that because of this, an in-depth SEO strategy cannot be implemented to the same degree, however, Wix has attempted to fix the majority of the major SEO related issues with their platform.

Overall: I would recommend Wix for smaller micro-businesses which don't intend to grow an online presence which generates them business but instead is wanting a presence which supplements their other business activities.

"I have had my hand in every kind of web builder, and I would say that Wix is one of the worse ones, if you want any flexibility. Anything custom - simple PHP inclusions, more or less serious JS - none of this can be properly done in Wix.

It works great for someone starting out, and all they need is a simple, bare-bones website. But, if you are planning on adding any custom functionality, or care about SEO (not just meta tags), you would be disappointed."

My husband and I have created all of our websites through Wix. Most recently a Photo Booth company named Wooshka Photobooths, where we very quickly learned the value of ranking well within search engines. We have implemented a lot of SEO strategies and currently sit in the number 1 spot for "Photo booth hire Melbourne' with a website we have created at home ourselves via Wix.

Pros: Easy to use, Simple to navigate, Very user-friendly and Blog option

Cons: Many say it will be difficult to do well SEO wise with Wix and it isn't compatible with Crazy Egg.

As a Digital Marketing Specialist of Digital Bond Marketing, I have worked with a lot of clients in the past who have started out on Wix. The platform is not as bad as it used to be. However, it still has a lot of drawbacks when it comes to SEO and customization can be a massive pain. It does depend on the company and the type of website you are building. If you can avoid starting out using WIX, you will help your cause down the road.

Pros: Free to start out.

Cons: Very limited on the free plan.

Overall Experience: If you are serious about selling online. Either pay for a monthly plan or use something else. The free plan allows you to have a few products and no way to actually take a payment from a customer.

Pros: Simple to use

Cons: No tablet or smartphone editors

Pros: Relatively easy to set up

Cons: Difficult to make changes

Pros: There are really some good features for small to medium-sized business, but I am not a current user of it.

Cons: None really because I am not that much impressed.
