Tableau

As a Head of Health Research and Data Analytics of RunRepeat, hereby I share my opinion regarding the Tableau Software:

Pros - It is relatively easy to use, and to get used to it. A large variety of graphs, competitively priced and very good free tear. It could be used by people who are not data analysts. 

Cons  - Limited amount of analytical capabilities. Some more complicated graphs are hard and unintuitive to create. As there is no programming interface, so no calculations are available. Hence it has handles less data, compared to other tools, and it's Windows only. 

Overall experience - It has it's strong and week sides. It has a niche in which, it's great. For example for analyzing mean volumes, that don't require deeper analysis.

Pros:

1. Good visualizations that help both, get insights and look impressive
2. Easy to learn and get started
3. Great user forum and supportive community which helps using Tableau easy. The forum is well maintained and structured which helps a user of any level
4. Responsive customer support and updates to accommodate much-demanded features
5. Connectivity options to multiple data sources

Cons:

1. The user experience of Tableau online could be better. Even after using the project-workbook- view structure, it is confusing for the viewers.
2. From a creator’s perspective, Tableau online offers editing options only and not creation

Overall Experience:

As an Analytical Marketing Manager of Sharesight, I am still at a stage where I am learning more about the software and its capabilities but due to its easy to use interface and information on tableau community forum the learning curve has not been as difficult as I had initially expected and I can say that the experience till now has been good.

I love the ease of connecting to a data source and flying through creating great visual reports, it is a deep software that can do so much more but it doesn't have to be at all times and I love that. I have created super simple reports, and I've also connected to many sources and made more complex and Tableau handles both with ease.

Pros: Extremely flexible and relevant.

Cons: It requires some development.

Pros: Data visualization is good, comparative analysis is also good.

Cons: Can't say.

I use tableau as an analyst every day and I like the ability to create rich visualizations from different kinds of datasets. If you are of a creative and problem-solving mindset there is almost a limitless set of complex Vizzes that you can design using Tableau.

The software is easy to use because it allows users to create interactive dashboards and drag-and-drop features to develop data visualizations. Even though the software is dealing with big data, it is still designed to be faster than other big data solutions.

Tableau is one of the most commonly used business intelligence platforms that aids businesses in visualizing and understanding their data better. The company offers three variants of the product: Tableau Online, Tableau Server and Tableau Desktop. If you already have Tableau server or online setup, data migration and flow to your Tableau desktop will be seamless. It has been trusted by businesses of all sizes since it first gained worldwide recognition.

Overall, a very good product. It has a free trial license, so I recommend a trial to anyone interested in data visualization. I am a longtime user of Tableau an I think I should update my previous review. Some years ago, Tableau was already a top-contender. Starting from this position, it has enlarged the list of compatible databases, and the capabilities to mix and match data from different sources.
