  • I’d say the heatmaps were hands-down my favorite feature of Skippership. They gave me a crystal-clear visual of where users were clicking on my site, which made it super easy to spot that one of my key buttons was being completely ignored. The ability to see user behavior in such a straightforward way helped me make a quick tweak to the layout, and boom—conversions shot up by 15%!

  • Reviewing long sessions can be time-consuming. Could benefit from automatic highlights (rage clicks, errors).
  • To be honest, Skippership worked so well for my needs that I didn’t run into any major issues. However, if I had to pick something, I’d say the free plan’s limit of 1,500 sessions per month felt a bit restrictive once my site started getting more traffic. As a solo developer, I’m always watching my budget, and while the free plan was great to start, I found myself needing to consider upgrading to the Starter plan sooner than expected to keep up with my analytics needs.
  • The main drawback with Skippership is that the free plan is quite limited, you only get a small number of heatmaps and session recordings, and data retention is short. To really benefit, you’ll likely need to move to a paid plan. Also, like most analytics tools, there can be a bit of a learning curve at the start.
