Rime was founded in 2022 by long time friends: Lily, a Stanford NLP PhD, Brooke, a PhD linguist and ex-Amazon Alexa engineer, and Ares, a Stanford engineer with a decade in product development.

Since then, we've added more voices to the mix: machine learning engineers, linguists, and startup veterans, all of whom are passionate about building voice AI that feels human. And we're backed by top-tier investors, including Unusual Ventures.
