“Most popular and powerful database”
MySQL is one of the best databases out there. It's even more simple to get started on any operating system. There's excellent documentation found on the official website. Innumerable user posts and thousands of QnAs on stack overflow. It also has great community support if you are ever stuck with any issue. With all these, we can claim MySQL to be world's best database.

“MySQL just does the job right”
MySQL is the best open-source RDBMS out there. Simple, stable, and straight-forward. The client (at least for mac) works flawlessly and is very intuitive.
