CanIRank does exactly what it says. I can choose a keyword or a page on my site and get insights into what I can do immediately to improve my rankings. I like how easy it is to help evaluate a SERP and get an idea of where you stand amongst the competition. Some of the recommendations aren't relevant. You need to be able to discern and make sense of the recommendations yourself. Meaning don't expect the tool to do all the thinking for you. On the plus side you can opt to speak to a human each step of the way and CanIRank offers done for you services. CanIRank saves me time I'd spend trying to determine whether or not I can rank for a particular search query.

CanIRank tells you step by step in plain English what you need to do in order to improve your search rank for the keywords you're currently ranking for or would like to rank for. The interface is very straight forward, while providing a huge amount of data and information. The competitor analysis tool is particularly useful and gives great insight into the pages and words they are outperforming you on. We are a software company in the event ticketing industry, which is actually very competitive on search ranking. I was able to discover many keywords/phrases that we were already ranking decently for (and some poorly), and with CanIRanks clearly described instructions and multiple tools, I learned what needed to be done in order to increase our page ranks for certain keywords / pages. CanIRank is focused on improving your ranking by offering specific instructions and information on how to actually make that happen. Other alternatives only provide data on keywords and competitors, rather than on how to implement strategies.
