Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
Uplogic technologies build and customize mobile and web app for enterprises, entrepreneurs, and on-demand startups. Our two main products are SpotnRides and SpotnEats, which focuses on on-demand taxi booking and online food delivery, respectively. We have worked and currently working with clients from 15+ countries across different mobile app and web app domains. We are one of a kind to have skilled developers and executives with good IT skills.
I, Rajarathinam Ganasekarapandian, am the CEO of Uplogic technologies and manage all the resources, operations, important decisions regarding the products, and communicate directly to the company board.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
Launching a tech startup was always on my list. I have 10+ years of solid experience in IT and app development. So it was not a big task to start one in this field. Also, I was very clear that my startup must build software products to cater to the needs of the latest trends like On-demand.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
We are an in-house team working to build app products from scratch using a bottom-up approach. I personally feel that app development using the in-house team with experts from design, testing, iOS, Android, etc. only can give complete fully loaded app solutions.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
Anybody who had worked with us knows that we are a customer-centric company. All decisions are taken along with clients. To improve transparency, we consistently intimate the proceedings to clients after each phase of app development. Our business and technical teams work to improve the overall satisfaction of the clients even after the product is live.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
As said earlier, we cater mainly to the on-demand delivery and taxi booking industry. The on-demand sector became famous after the release of Uber. Many entrepreneurs then came forward to start businesses using the Uber model. We then built readymade app solutions for these businesses to make their work easy.
Also, we deliver highly customized technical and after-sales assistance. We try to have a long-term commitment to our clients.
Not to mention that many of our clients have approached us for more on-demand services because of our work.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile app.
The time-frame for completing the app totally depends on the degree of customization and feature addition. On average, our team completes a project in a week. Nonetheless, we give comprehensive post-sales assistance. The on-demand apps can hold a lot of features, and our firm provides a plethora of optional features for the client to choose from. Also, we have the knack to make and incorporate any features desired by our clients. In simple words, our product completion time depends solely on feature addition.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mobile app?
Since most of our products are readily made with basic functionalities, it doesn’t take more than a week to work on any projects. But we will take anywhere between 3-4 months to build the complete front-end app with backend infrastructure for an app developed from scratch.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?
All of our apps are available on both iOS and Android platforms. We have teams to work in Objective C, Laravel, PHP, MongoDB, Swift, Ruby, and many more. Generally, we select the mobile application platform based on client preference, timeframe for release, monetization of the app, user demographics, and region of operation.
Which platform do you suggest your clients, to begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?
Since we are a customer-centric firm, we give our clients the space to select the platform. Nonetheless, we always suggest beginning with Android. The reason for it is that Android OS is flexible and can be changed frequently. The final version of the Android app can be set at a baseline while developing the iOS app. Ultimately, it is up to our client to choose the operating system.
Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid — which platform is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?
I have answered the question on iOS or Android previously. When it comes to Native or Hybrid, most of the time, we use Hybrid app development because of its flexibility and low cost. Since most of our clients are small-time entrepreneurs, Hybrid is apt for them. Hybrid is based on the belief that it can be programmed once and be used in multiple devices.

Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
I cannot be certain about the minimum requirement we charge for a project. Since you are asking, in 2019, we worked on projects as high as $1,00,000 for many enterprises and tech startups.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2019?
The price for all the projects we worked in 2019 range from 2000USD to 100k USD.
Which business model do you suggest to your clients enabling them to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?
At present, on-demand is the best way to monetize quickly without much investment in physical assets. The on-demand app model can be operated as a marketplace platform for taxis, restaurants, and many other services.
