Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?

Mobulous, as name defines is a Mobile Application Development Company, ranked as “Top App Developer” in various portals. For the past 4 years, we are developing Native Android ,iOS and Web Application(s) for many start-ups and businesses across the Globe . I am the Founder and CEO of the Company.

What was the idea behind starting this organization?

In this new era of technological advancements, business owners have realized that creating a mobile app for their business is the best way to bring their services right in the palms of their customers. Idea behind starting Mobulous was to be a single stop destination for start-ups and business owners developing UI oriented Apps|websites for their Products maximizing their reach and helping them attain more customers.

What is your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?

We have a complete in-house team. We do not out source any work. Our team will include well-experienced Designer(s), Developer(s), Business Analyst(s), Project Manager(s) and Quality Analyst(s).

How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?

We believe in building brands, not just an app. During the analysis phase, we give suggestions to our clients to make their application a successful product in the market. We follow the agile methodology which helps in breaking the product into small incremental builds and give more customer satisfaction. We will ask for the payment after client’s satisfaction and approval for the Milestones|Versions.

What industries do you generally cater to? What ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?

We have expertise in all the domains that include chat, VOIP, map and navigation, healthcare, M-commerce, News and Magazines, Education, wearables, IOT, Chatbot etc. Yes, we have customers repetitive. Many of our clients like our services so they asked for more application development from our end and recommend us to others prospective clients .

Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile app.

The first and foremost thing is to understand the complete app idea. After getting the complete app idea, we will calculate the time frame based on two parameters i.e. complexity of app and number of screens. Sometimes an application with more screens but with less complexity will take less time in comparison to an app with fewer screens but more complexity. Experience is also one of the major factors that will come while determining the time frame as if we have good experience in similar kind of application then it will take less time for development.

How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mobile app?

It completely depends on the type of application. As few applications will have more work in front-end as compare to back-end than front-end will take more time and vice-versa. For example, we are currently working for a UAE client whose application have three back-ends server(s) written in different technologies like Node.JS , Python, Java so in this project major efforts went into back-end development.

What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?

Before selecting the right platform, user will have to check the market and his target audience. If he is planning to launch an application for Indian market then obvious he must have to go for Android first as in India larger number of users are using Android devices in comparison to iOS devices. But if he is planning for any other market such as the USA, UK etc then he must have to go for iOS. Also, if client is having good budget then he can plan for both platforms.

Which platform do you suggest your clients, to begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?

Again, it depends on few parameters but still if client plan to move forward with single platform then we would suggest Android. Because of large user base for Android.

Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid — which platform is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?

From Native and Hybrid, we would recommend Native platform. Yes, it’s true Hybrid platform is cheaper than Native but Native applications will have good user experience, better quality and are expandable. If client didn’t want to expand his app in future and have less budget then he can plan for hybrid. But for those who didn’t need features like camera, GPS, offline mode then they definitely go for native app. We do not work in Hybrid App Development

What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?

Cost of any mobile application will depend majorly on two factors that are how big is the project and what is the complexity of the project. The more number of features is the project the extra it will cost. Also, if project is complex or if more research is required and will take good efforts of the team then also it will directly affect the cost of the project

What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone?

We follow three payment methods- T&M model, Hourly model and Fixed price model. T&M model is monthly model in which client will have to pay every month till the project goes on. Hourly model will work on the hourly development activities for projects in which the scope, requirements and specifications are either not well defined at the beginning or may undergo midstream changes. Fixed price model opts when all the project requirements are clear.

Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement?

No, we don’t have any minimum budget. We have done a big project of worth $200,000 and a small project of worth $1000. Sometimes in initial, we get small project with less cost but in future client will ask for enhancement of the project in next phase than this small project will turn into big project after each phase.

What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2016?

Minimum price is 1000 USD and maximum price is 200,000 USD

Which business model do you suggest to your clients enabling them to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?

It depends on the type of the project. One should look at the target audience and then decide the best suits in that situation. But still, if we have to suggest the client then there are four different methods- 1. Micro Credit: In this user will pay for certain features in small payments 2. Subscription based: In this user will pay for once and will get the paid features. 3. Advertisement generating revenue per impressions. 4. Paid Application on App Store and Google Play Rest there are many other which we can use but it all depend on the app you are looking for.
